February 6, 2012

After 17 weeks in the regular season and four weeks of playoffs, there were still five contestants without a loss. Four contestants took New England. That left Keith Lloyd, Anthony Cabrera, Jarrod Baer, Tim Deithloff, and Mike Manos as co-winners for 2012. In the loser's pool, both contestants took New England which meant they both finished as co-winners. Mike Manos wins again as does Sam Boone.

January 22, 2012

Everyone took New England so there wasn't any changes. We'll get it cleared up with the Super Bowl.

January 16, 2012

It was a mostly New England week with one pick for Baltimore and one pick for Green Bay. Green Bay was the lone loser and knocked out one more participant in the regular pool.

January 9, 2012

It was Tebow time and that was bad news for three of the five contestants left in the loser's pool. Pittsburgh's loss means there are only two entries left in the loser's pool. No losers in the main pool so all ten contestants move on to the next week of the playoffs.

January 2, 2012

No losers this week. On to the playoffs.

December 27, 2011

No losers this week.

December 20, 2011

The NY Giants took out two from the main pool while Green Bay took out one. That leaves ten contestants left. The Giants also took out three from the loser's pool while Tennessee took out one more. That leaves five contestants in the loser's pool.

December 13, 2011

No losers this week.

December 6, 2011

You were good as long as you picked New England or San Francisco. One contestant in the loser's pool took Chicago and they were the lone loser this week.

November 29, 2011

San Diego takes out one contestant from the loser's pool. 13 remaining the main pool and 10 in the loser's pool.

November 22, 2011

Lost one entry in the main pool thanks to the NY Jets.

November 15, 2011

It was a bad week to not pick Green Bay (or get San Francisco as a default pick). Any other team and you were out (including myself). Philadelphia did the bulk of the damage knocking out 14 contestants from the main pool and another 19 from the loser's pool. Also in the main pool, Baltimore took out 5 and Carolina 1. In the loser's pool, Baltimore took out 3, Cleveland 1, and San Diego 4. Only 14 entries left in the main pool and 10 in the loser's pool.

November 8, 2011

We lost ten contestants in the loser's pool and another five in the main pool. Kansas City and Oakland took out three each while New England and Philadelphia took out two in the loser's pool. Kansas City took out three and New England two in the main pool.

November 1, 2011

It was a bad week to pick New Orleans. It cost 8 contestants in the main pool and 12 in the loser's pool. There were a bunch of close calls but that was the only loser this week.

October 25, 2011

Baltimore does the most damage this week taking out 6 entries in the regular pool and 10 entries in the loser's pool. Oakland took out 1 and 2, respectively, while Detroit caused 1 loser in the loser's pool.

October 19, 2011

Thanks to Detroit, one contestant was eliminated from the main pool. No losers in the loser's pool.

October 11, 2011

I can't remember one team doing as much damage as the NY Giants did Sunday. They single handedly took out 79 entries. That's 30% of the entire pool and 56% of the entries that were still alive going into week 5. Houston took out 8 entries and Indianapolis took out 1 more. That leaves only 54 entries still alive or 21% of the entire pool.

October 4, 2011

Philadelphia does all the damage this week and took out 11 entries.

September 28, 2011

It wasn't a good week to forget to enter your pick as the default pick, New England, lost and removed 28 entries. Arizona and Philadelphia both took out 4 entries while Atlanta, Cincinnati, and the NY Jets took out one each.

September20, 2011

Baltimore did all the damage this week and took out 7 entries.

September 13, 2011

What a horrible start. 24% of the pool goes out in the first week including myself. Cleveland (24) and Kansas City (23) did most of the damage (related to UT starters???) while the NY Giants (7), Atlanta (4), Denver (2), Indianapolis (1) and Dallas (1) did the rest. 199 entries still standing. I'm just waiting for the loser's pool now.

January 17, 2011

Finally sending out the final update. After week 16, the loser's pool was done with Tim Bohman taking the prize. There were two players left in the main pool. Both won in week 17 so we then went to the playoff games. In the first week of the playoffs, Lalo Guerrero took defending champion New Orleans while Clark Tilley took Baltimore. New Orleans was upset by Seattle and that left Clark as the main pool winner. Congratulations to both winners and thanks everyone for participating.

December 29, 2010

The lesson learned this week - Thursday games are easy to pick while Tuesday games are hard. Philadelphia finished one contest and almost the other. The Eagles took out three contestants from the loser's pool and that left one entry, Crimson Starfish 5, as the winner. Congratulations Tim Bohman on the win. In the main pool, two contestants were knocked out which leaves us with just two left.

December 21, 2010

Tampa Bay takes out two contestants in the main pool. No losers in the loser's pool. That leaves four contestants in each pool.

December 16, 2010

We lost one contestant in each pool. The NY Jets took our one in the main pool (leaving six) and Green Bay took out one in the loser's pool (leaving four).

December 7, 2010

Week 13 was definitely unlucky if you picked San Diego. After two weeks without any misses, five contestants in the main pool and two in the loser's pool were eliminated thanks to San Diego. That leaves seven contestants in the main pool and five in the loser's pool.

November 30, 2010

For the second week in a row, no losers in either pool.

November 23, 2010

No losers this week in either pool.

November 17, 2010

Dallas does the damage once again. This time by going against them. The Cowboys knock out 12 from the regular pool and 5 from the loser's pool. Pittsburgh and Baltimore took out one each in the regular pool. That leaves 12 remaining in the regular pool and 7 in the loser's pool

November 9, 2010

New England takes out four contestants in the main pool leaving 26 entries still battling it out. New England also took out four in the loser's pool and Indianapolis took out one. That leaves 12 contestants left there.

November 4, 2010

I was surprised when people picked the Cowboys at the beginning of the season. I'm even more surprised now. In the regular pool, five contestants met their demise due to the Pokes. The NY Jets (who were the default pick for many folks) took out six contestants while Denver and Pittsburgh took out one apiece. In the loser's pool, Dallas took out another four entries while the NY Jets took out four as well. Arizona and Pittsburgh both took out one each.

October 26, 2010

The Horns killed me on Saturday and an ex-Horn killed me on Sunday. New Orleans took out 23 entries in the regular pool and 18 in the loser's pool. In addition, Denver took out one entry in the regular pool and two in the loser's pool. That's 10% and 30% of total entries respectively. The regular pool is down to 43 contestants or 17% of the total entries while the loser's pool is down to 27 entries or 41% of the total entries (after only two weeks).

October 19, 2010

Only three losers in main pool with San Diego taking out two and Chicago one. In the Loser's Pool, 29% fell out after the first weekend. Chicago (9) and San Diego (8) did most of the damage while Denver and Green Bay took out one contestant each. I guess that's why it's called the Loser's Pool.

October 12, 2010

It was a bad week for the pool. Ten different teams were selected by contestants and five of them lost. The losses took out 25% of the contestants which means that a total of 72% our now eliminated from the contest. There were barely more winning picks (70) than losing (62). Defending champion New Orleans took out 26 contestants while Cincinnati took out 19. Other teams doing damage included San Diego (9), Dallas ???? (7), and Buffalo (1).

October 5, 2010

The default pick of Pittsburgh lost this week and that cost 10 contestants. In addition, Indianapolis took out 5 while Tennessee (2), Philadelphia (2), and Cincinnati (1) contributed to take out a total of 20 contestants this week. That's 8% of the pool and means that 47% of the contestants have been eliminated in the first four weeks.

September 28, 2010

Only three losers in week 3. Houston, Washington, and San Diego took out one each.

September 22, 2010

43 contestants go down in the second week. That's another 17% That means in the first two week we've lost 38% of the field. Dallas (????) took out 23 contestants while Minnesota was responsible for another 13. New England (3), Tennessee (2), Baltimore (1) and St. Louis (1) also led to losses.

September 14, 2010

We lost 21% of the pool in the first week. Last year, we only lost 3%, 34% in 2008, and 11% in 2007. San Diego did the most damage taking out 30 contestants. San Francisco (??) took out 9, Indianapolis 7, Dallas 4 (????), while Atlanta and Minnesota took out one each.

January 4, 2009

Denver does most of the damage knocking out four contestants (including myself) in the main pool. New Orleans takes out one more. No losers in the loser's pool. That leaves five contestants in the main pool and four in the loser's pool.

December 28, 2009

New Orleans takes out four in the main pool leaving 10 entries remaining. Indianapolis takes out one in the loser's pool leaving 4 entries.

December 21, 2009

The Oakland Raiders once again create havoc with a win over Denver. That win cost 13 contestants in the main pool and another 5 in the loser's pool. Dallas winning over New Orleans also took out one in the loser's pool. The main pool now has 14 contestants left and the loser's pool has 5.

December 14, 2009

One loser in the main pool thanks to Pittsburgh. No losers in the loser's pool.

December 8, 2009

It was Pittsburgh and their fourth loss in a row that did in contestants this week. They knocked out 16 in the main pool and 2 in the loser's pool. That leaves 28 contestants in the main pool and 11 in the loser's pool.

December 1, 2009

Miami (??) knocks out one entry in the main pool. No losers in the loser's pool.

November 24, 2009

Pittsburgh and Cincinnati do the damage this week. Pittsburgh takes out 6 in the main pool and 3 in the loser's pool while Cincinnati takes out 8 in the main pool and 4 in the loser's pool.

November 18, 2009

Denver takes out one entry in the main pool and two entries in the loser's pool. There was also a New England pick in the main pool that lost. It was the default pick due to a contestant picking a team for a third time.

November 10, 2009

Not a good week to be a cheese head. Green Bay knocks out 12 in the main pool and 3 in the loser's pool.

November 3, 2009

The combination of Arizona and Denver (the default pick) did the damage this week. In the main pool, ten entries had Arizona while three had Denver. In the loser's pool, there were two entries with Arizona and one with Denver.

October 27, 2009

Only three losers in the main pool thanks to the NY Giants. Those same NY Giants took out four entries in the loser's pool.

October 20, 2009

Philadelphia and the NY Jets do most of the damage this week. In the main pool, Philadelphia took out 32 entries, the NY Jets took out 7, and Cincinnati took out 1. That's 15% of the pool and means only 33% of the original contestants are still alive. In the loser's pool, we started with 50 entries and lost 18 (36%) in the first week. Philadelphia (12), the NY Jets (4), Cincinnati (1), and Washington (1) did the damage.

October 13, 2009

Only five losers this week. Baltimore took out three while Buffalo and the NY Jets took out one each. 129 entries still standing.

October 7, 2009

No losers this week. Pretty early in the season to have a perfect week.

September 29, 2009

Only five losers this week. Houston took out three and Pittsburgh got two.

September 22, 2009

It was an unkind week as we lost 119 contestants or 44% of the pool. There were three teams picked in double digits and three of them lost. Green Bay took out the most with 50, while New England had 35 (got to turn in those picks), and Tennessee had 30 (sorry Dad). Jacksonville (3) and Kansas City (1) round out the losers for the week.

September 15, 2009

First week of the new season is complete and we only lost 9 contestants (3.4%). Arizona did most of the damage taking out four entries, Houston took out three while Cincinnati took out two more. We've set a new record for total entries at 267.

February 2, 2009

The three remaining contestants in the Loser's Pool all took Pittsburgh so they split the rest of the pot. Thanks to everyone for participating.

January 19, 2009

I mentioned that the eight remaining contestants in the Loser’s Pool all lost last week with Carolina. Four decided to cash out and four decided to play on. Of those four who played on, three took Pittsburgh and one took Baltimore. That leaves the three Pittsburgh contestants to battle it out in the Super Bowl.

January 14, 2009

Well, we got our first winner. Of the two pools every remaining contestant picked Carolina except for one entry. That was Marilyn Everts in the main pool. She picked Pittsburgh and therefore won the main pool. Congratulations for taking a risk and having it pay off. The loser’s pool all lost so those contestants much choose whether they treat the week as a do over or not.

January 4, 2009

Indianapolis took out one contestant in the main pool leaving three. Indianapolis took out two in the loser's pool as did Atlanta leaving eight contestants.

December 28, 2008

No losers in the main pool. One in the loser's pool thanks to Tampa Bay. On to the playoffs.

December 23, 2008

It was a tough week to pick as we lost almost half of the remaining entries. In the main pool, the damage was done by Denver (2), Houston (2), the NY Jets, and Philadelphia. In the loser's pool, it was Denver (2), Houston (3), Minnesota (1), the NY Jets (1), Philadelphia (1), and Tampa Bay (1). With one week remaining in the regular season, there are four entries remaining in the main pool (2%) and 13 in the loser's (15%).

December 16, 2008

Lost two entries from both pools. Tennessee and Washington did the damage in the main pool while Tennessee and the NY Giants did the damage in the loser's pool. That leaves 10 entries in the main pool and 22 in the loser's pool.

December 9, 2008

No losers in the main pool. The NY Giants (2), Tampa Bay (1), and Green Bay (1) do the damage to the loser's pool.

December 2, 2008

Buffalo takes out the one contestant in the main pool and another four in the loser's pool. The New York Jets also take out one from the loser's pool. That leaves 12 in the main pool and 28 in the loser's pool.

November 27, 2008

Denver does all of the damage knocking out two in the main pool and 11 (including me) in the loser's pool.

November 18, 2008

Philadelphia does most of the damage this week with their tie game. You have to pick a winner each week. In the main pool, they took out one entry which was the only loser of the week. They took out nine entries in the loser's pool. Atlanta took out two and New England one. That leaves 44 entries remaining in the loser's pool.

November 12, 2008

The main pool loses one entry due to Pittsburgh. That leaves sixteen entries remaining. The loser's pool lost four entries thanks to Pittsburgh (3) and Green Bay (1). That leaves 56 entries.

November 4, 2008

No losers in the main pool. Nine entries in the loser's pool went down. Jacksonville does the most damage for the second week in a row with six entries while Buffalo took out the other three.

October 28, 2008

One loser in the main pool thanks to Buffalo. Thirteen entries in the loser's pool thanks to Jacksonville (7), Pittsburgh (3), and one each by Buffalo, Houston, and San Francisco. That's 15% of the loser's pool knocked out this week.

October 21, 2008

No losers in the main pool. Only three in the loser's pool. Dallas took out two and the NY Jets took out one. That's 3 out of 85.

October 14, 2008

It was a tough week for the NFC East (but a good week for the Horns). The Cowboys lost a crazy game and Washington and the NY Giants lose to take out another 24 entries (including mine). Washington was responsible for 20 entries and the NY Giants another 4. That represents 9% of the total entries. After six weeks, we have 18 entries remaining. That means we've lost 93% of the contestants.

October 10, 2008

Only one loser thanks to San Diego.

September 30, 2008

Proving once again how hard this contest is, we lost more than half of the remaining entries this week (25% of the total entries). Denver took out 33 while Dallas takes out 30. There was also one Philadelphia pick. This leaves us with 43 entries which means 83% of the entries couldn't pick four in a row.

September 23, 2008

New England had to lose sometime and they will probably fall off the top of the Sagarin rankings. The default pick lost this week and 31 entries went down with it. Carolina and Chicago knocked out one each. That's another 13% of the pool. There are 107 entries still remaining. That means that in the first three weeks 148 (58%) picked a loser.

September 16, 2008

Seattle does the damage this week knocking out 23 contestants. Jacksonville (2), Kansas City (2), and the NY Jets (1) also take down a few. That's 11% of the pool. Quite a few folks didn't make a pick in week 2 but New England pulled through anyway.

September 9, 2008

The New England folks got lucky (me included) but the Indianapolis and San Diego folks were not so lucky. They took out 41 and 35 contestants respectively. Also chipping away at the contestant pool was Cincinnati (2), Detroit (6), Jacksonville (1), Kansas City (1)(?), and Seattle (1). That's 34% of the pool gone in week one. It ain't easy.

January 22, 2008

No losers this week.

January 14, 2008

Indianapolis does the damage in the second week of the playoffs. They take out four contestants in the main pool leaving six and they take out one in the loser's pool leaving the final two contestants.

January 6, 2008

We had one loser in the main pool thanks to Pittsburgh. That leaves 10 contestants. We also lost one entry in the loser's pool thanks to Tampa Bay. That leave 3 contestants.

December 30, 2007

One loser in the main pool thanks to Jacksonville. No losers in the loser's pool.

December 27, 2007

No losers in the main pool. One loser in the loser's pool thanks to Tampa Bay. Down to four contestants in the loser's pool. Still twelve in the main pool.

December 18, 2007

One loser this week in the main pool thanks to Cincinnati. No losers in the loser pool.

December 11, 2007

No losers this week.

December 4, 2007

Washington cost one contestant from each pool. That leaves us with 13 contestants in the main pool and 5 in the loser's pool.

November 27, 2007

No losers in the main pool. One loser in the loser's pool thanks to Arizona.

November 20, 2007

No losers this week.

November 13, 2007

It was the best run I have had in quite some time and it has come to an end. Arizona decides to win their first game against New Orleans and it knocked out most of the remaining entries. 32 contestants had New Orleans, 4 had Indianapolis, and 1 had Washington. That's a total of 37 losers or 17% of all entries. We're down to 14 contestants in the main pool. New Orleans cost 11 contestants to lose while Tennessee and Detroit took out 1 each. That represents 36% of the loser's pool and only 7 contestants remain.

November 6, 2007

After weeks of few losses, we finally had a big week. San Diego (and Adrian Peterson) did the damage. San Diego knocked out 27 contestants (12% of the pool) from the original pool. 51 contestants are still left standing. The loser's pool lost 8 contestants thanks to San Diego (22% of the pool). 20 contestants are left there.

October 30, 2007

For the second week in a row, there was only one loser. No one lost in the main contest again. One loser in the loser's pool thanks to Tampa Bay.

October 23, 2007

Only one losing entry from any of the contests. The main contest doesn't lose any participants this week and the loser's pool loses one thanks to Philadelphia.

October 16, 2007

We lose another 14 entries this week (6%). Dallas (6) did the big damage as a number of entries stopped submitting picks and the default pick finally got beat. For those who lost on their own, Seattle (6), Chicago (1), and Arizona (1) did the damage. The loser's pool also lost 6 entries (17%) thanks to Seattle (4), Chicago (1), and Arizona (1).

October 8, 2007

Only two losers this week thanks to Green Bay. The Dallas picks can breathe easy.

October 1, 2007

It was a bad week to be ranked in the college football top 25 (way to go Horns) and it was a bad week for the suicide pool. We lost 63 entries or 29% of all entries. So far we have lost 57% of all entries after four weeks. San Diego did the damage in week four taking out 53 entries. Pittsburgh took out 5, Baltimore 3, and the NY Jets and Philadelphia took out one each.

September 25, 2007

I'm finally getting a real update to everyone. I thought I would recap the first three weeks. In week one we lost 24 entries (11% of the pool). Damage was done by Atlanta (1), Kansas City (2), Philadelphia (2), St. Louis (4), and, primarily, Jacksonville (15). In week two we lost another 24 entries (11% of the pool; 22% now gone). Philadelphia again took out an entry (1) while Carolina (2), New Orleans (5), and, primarily, Cincinnati (16) did the rest of the damage. Week 3 was the last week for 13 entries (6% of the pool; 28% now gone). Washington (1), St. Louis (1), Cincinnati (1), New Orleans (3), Denver (3), San Diego (4) were the culprits.

December 22, 2006

Congratulations to Eric Bulman who finally beat out Steve Testa for the championship. New Orleans was the downfall for Testa after he and Eric had both won for three straight weeks in their showdown. Eric finishes with 15 straight winning picks. Nice job!

December 5, 2006

No losers this week as our final two contestants keep winning.

November 27, 2006

No losers this week as our final two contestants keep winning.

November 21, 2006

They call it the Loser's Pool for a reason. It only took six weeks to eliminate all but one contestant. Congratulations to Don Woody who got a great comeback by Kansas City to propel him to victory in the Loser's Pool contest. Philadelphia took our three of his fellow contestants and New Orleans took out the other one. In the main pool, we are down to two contestants. Philadelphia took out everyone else who was still remaining (11 contestants).

November 14, 2006

Over half of the contestants entering the week lost - 17 out of 30 in the main pool and 5 out of 10 in the Loser's Pool. New England did most of the damage taking out 9 and 2, respectively. Jacksonville took out 4 and 3, respectively. Atlanta (3) and Detroit (1) did the rest.

November 7, 2006

Chicago lost their first game of the season and it proved costly for six contestants in the regular pool and one in the Loser's Pool. This leaves 30 contestants remaining in the regular pool and 10 in the Loser's Pool.

October 31, 2006

Pittsburgh and the NY Jets did the damage this week - though the damage was light. We lost four in the big pool (Pittsburgh 3; NY Jets 1) and Pittsburgh took out one in the Loser's Pool.

October 24, 2006

We finally had a big upset week. Most of the sure things were either not playing or had been picked too many times. The big pool lost 68 contestants. That represents 40% of the entire pool. Jacksonville did most of the damage taking out 43 entries. Also contributing were Seattle (15), Philadelphia (7), San Diego (2), and Arizona (1). The Loser's Pool had similar results losing 13 contestants. This represents 45% of the entire pool. Jacksonville again did most of the damage knocking out 8 entries. Arizona (2), Seattle (1), and Philadelphia (2) also contributed to the misery. The big pool has 40 entries remaining and the Loser's Pool has 12.

October 17, 2006

In the regular pool we lost six entries - one thanks to Cincinnati and five thanks to Washington. We also lost four entries in the loser's pool thanks to those same teams (Cincinnati 1; Washington 3).

October 10, 2006

All you Indy people can breathe easier. No losers last week. Second chance pool starts this week. Same entry fee. See the rules above.

October 3, 2006

A relatively quiet week as eight contestants bowed out. Cincinnati did most of the damage taking out four entries, Miami took out three, and Jacksonville one.

September 26, 2006

Worst weekend of the season so far. 26 entries go down this week (including me). The teams causing the damage included Arizona (2), Atlanta (2), Buffalo (4), Detroit (4), and stupid New England (14). All you Miami and Chicago folks should count your lucky stars. I should be proud of myself. Making it to the third week is the best I have done since the 2000 contest when I made it to the fifth week. My personal record is going eleven weeks in 1998.

September 18, 2006

Only three losers this week thanks to Miami.

September 12, 2006

17 entries go down in week one. That's 10% of the total entries. We're almost done. The damage was caused by Tennessee (1), Cleveland (2), Washington (4), Denver (4), and Carolina (6).

January 22, 2006

The conference championship games knocked out two contestants – one from each pool. One entry had Denver and one had Carolina .

For the first time ever, we’ve had two contestants make it to the Super Bowl without a loss. The contest has a tiebreaker procedure but it has never been used. This could be the year. The losers pool also has two contestants in the Super Bowl.

January 16, 2006

I haven't updated in two weeks so time to get caught up. In the first round of the playoffs, there was only one loser - me. Stupid Giants. Last weekend two contestants had Indianapolis who I picked to win it all. We're down to three contestants in both pools with only three games left on the year.

January 2, 2006

No losers this week.

December 26, 2005

The last weekend of 2005 was a tough one for a number of contestants. We lost ten contestants in the regular pool thanks to Cincinnati (9) and Carolina (1) and two in the losers pool thanks to St. Louis. We're down to four contestants in the regular pool and five in the losers pool.

December 20, 2005

No losers this week.

December 13, 2005

San Diego did the damage this week taking out six contestants in the original pool and three from the loser's pool. That leaves 14 contestants in the original pool and 7 in the loser's pool.

December 6, 2005

No losers this week.

December 3, 2005

Lost two in the losers pool thanks to Oakland losing at home to Miami.

November 23, 2005

St. Louis couldn't win at home last week and that cost two entries in the losers pool. Everyone else moved on.

November 14, 2005

It was Atlanta and the NY Giants doing the damage this week. Atlanta took out four in the regular pool and two in the losers pool while the NY Giants took out eight and two, respectively. There are now 20 entries left in the regular pool and 14 in the losers pool.

November 8, 2005

No losers this week. Even those who didn't turn in picks got winners.

November 2, 2005

Tampa Bay (and Chris Simms) was the team doing the damage this week. Make sure you check the injury reports. We lost 7 entries in the regular pool and 5 in the losers pool.

October 25, 2005

Lost three entries in the original contest thanks to Denver (1) and Cincinnati (2 - default pick for no shows). No losers in the loser pool.

October 18, 2005

No losers in the original contest. The loser's pool (appropriately named) lost two entries thanks to Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

October 10, 2005

Lost six this week thanks to Houston (?) [1], Philadelphia [2], and Tampa Bay [3].

October 6, 2005

Lost four players this week thanks to New England (3) and Jacksonville (1).

September 26, 2005

There were no losers this week. Even the few who didn't turn in a pick got a winner with New England.

September 20, 2005

If you had Dallas last night, that had to hurt. We lost another 20 players this past weekend. Dallas took out 8, Green Bay 7, Atlanta 1, Baltimore 1, Detroit 1, New England 1, and San Diego 1.

September 12, 2005

As usual, it was a rough first week. 73 of us are out after one lousy pick. I hate this contest. That's 49% of the entries out. The rest of you should feel lucky. Only 2003 was much worse than this when 71% were knocked out in the first week. Denver took out 6 entries, Carolina 21, San Diego 2, St. Louis 32, Minnesota 14, and Green Bay 1. If you're curious if I rig this contest to my favor, I haven't made it past the second week since 2000. I hate this contest.

August 28, 2005

Going automated this year. We'll see how it goes.

September 7, 2002

Picks are in and we set a record for entries. Thanks everyone and good luck.

November 20, 2001

Everyone lost again! This time the losers have opted for a payout. As such we have a tri-champions. Thanks everyone for participating.

October 28, 2001

We had four contestants opt for an early payout. That may have been the right decision. Of the seven who wanted to continue, four lost for the second week in a row.

October 21, 2001

Everyone lost!!! We'll see how everyone wants to continue.

October 15, 2001

No losers this week.

October 9, 2001

One more goes down. Must have thought Philadelphia was playing Dallas again.

September 30, 2001

The field gets cut in almost in half as New England pulls the big upset and Cleveland wins one on the road.

September 25, 2001

Two more entries out. Twenty-one left. Thanks for playing Steve.

September 10, 2001

Haven't even finished the first week and almost half the pool is out. You would think if A&M can squeak out a win over McNeese St. that Minnesota could find a way to win.
